Electrical Engineer โ€“ Counter-UAS (C-UAS)

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS). This role focuses on electrical architecture, power distribution, signal integrity, and integration of advanced sensor and countermeasure technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex, mission-critical systems in defense, aerospace, or similar high-reliability environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems and architectures for C-UAS platforms, including power distribution, signal routing, and grounding strategies
  • Support integration of radar, RF detection systems, EO/IR sensors, communications equipment, and countermeasure technologies
  • Create schematics, wiring diagrams, harness designs, and electrical documentation
  • Perform electrical analysis, including power budgets, noise/interference mitigation, and signal integrity assessments
  • Collaborate with RF, software, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure seamless system integration
  • Support PCB design and review processes, including layout guidance for EMI/EMC performance
  • Develop and execute test plans for electrical subsystems, including bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure compliance with military and industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, DO-160)
  • Interface with vendors and manufacturers for component selection, procurement, and production support
  • Support field testing, debugging, and system deployment activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design and system integration
  • Strong understanding of power systems, analog/digital circuitry, and embedded interfaces
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, etc.)
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC principles and mitigation techniques
  • Experience troubleshooting complex electrical systems
  • Familiarity with common communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, CAN)
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with C-UAS, UAV, electronic warfare, or radar systems
  • Background in RF systems or high-frequency design considerations
  • Experience with power electronics, battery systems, or ruggedized hardware
  • Knowledge of SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) constraints for mobile or deployable systems
