Job Description

We are seeking a mid-level to senior-level candidate in Structural Engineering with a minimum of five to ten years of experience in the design of commercial, institutional, and industrial structures with both new and existing construction for our Bozeman office. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have a desire to work and grow with a multidiscipline engineering team, and be willing to have fun.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship.No paid interview travel or relocation expenses are offered for this position. This position is not remote.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform project management duties, perform, and oversee structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of projects.
  • Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings.
  • Lead a team of engineers, designers, and drafters to execute structural designs.
  • Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of structural members such as beams, columns, walls, joists, and foundations.
  • Develop structural models that mathematically define and idealize the actual structure being designed.
  • Use approved codes and standards to define structural demands on buildings due to wind and seismic loadings.
  • Analyze and design connections of the various structural elements in a building structure.
  • Perform analysis needed to evaluate seismic risk in existing buildings using approved structural codes and standards.
  • Assist in managing BIM and production efforts.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience with structural computer analysis software systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
  • Experience with the latest release of Autodesk Revit design tools.
  • Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain a strong team of professionals and support staff within a cooperative multidiscipline office performing at a high level of satisfaction to clients.
  • Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and time management skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree in structural engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with the structural design of buildings or similar structures.
  • Licensed Montana Civil (PE) required.
  • Licensed Montana Structural Engineer (SE) preferred.
