The impact youโ€™ll make

Join Lam's Wet Equipment Technology Systems (WETs) organization as an Electrical Engineer IV to help lead the development of next-generation semiconductor processing equipment. This is a highly visible role within our New Product Development team, where you will drive electrical architecture, control systems, and integration from concept through production release. Your role involves designing and analyzing equipment, conducting experimental tests, evaluating results to create reliable cutting-edge solutions.

In this role, you will directly contribute to development of cutting edge, next generation, semiconductor wet deposition tools.

What youโ€™ll do
  • Lead the design and integration of complex electrical systems for advanced semiconductor equipment.
  • Own electrical architecture, power distribution, controls, safety circuits, and subsystem interfaces.
  • Design and implement distributed automation systems utilizing EtherCAT networks, distributed I/O, servo drives, sensors, and actuators.
  • Drive system-level technical decisions, balancing performance, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.
  • Develop functional specifications for highly complex electrical/ electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
  • Partner with Mechanical, Systems, Controls, Software, Process, Manufacturing, and Service Engineering teams to solve complex integration challenges.
  • Lead laboratory validation, troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and design verification activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to electrical engineering best practices.
Who weโ€™re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Masterโ€™s degree with 6+ yearsโ€™ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background in electrical system architecture, industrial controls, and power distribution systems.
  • Experience designing and releasing complex electrical systems from concept through production.
  • Hands-on experience with EtherCAT-based machine control systems and industrial automation.
  • Experience with electrical CAD and design tools such as OrCAD, Zuken, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and system integration skills.
Preferred qualifications
  • Semiconductor equipment or complex capital equipment experience.
  • Experience with Beckhoff/TwinCAT or similar EtherCAT platforms.
  • Knowledge of SEMI, UL, CE, IEC, and NFPA-79 standards.
  • Familiarity with machine safety, EMC/EMI design, and controls architecture.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional technical projects and mentoring engineers.
  • Ability to define functional requirements and execute in a dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical presentations.
