Certified NCSCB Cable Splicer


Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets.  Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad.

 

Saber Power Services seeks an experienced and safety-focused Cable Splicer to join our team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high voltage electrical systems (typically 600V to 500kV) in utility, substation, power plant, and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with energized systems, strong knowledge of the NEC and OSHA safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced field environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, and test high voltage cables, conductors, breakers, and transformers.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-lines, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Perform maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and protection/control systems.
  • Execute grounding and bonding practices for high voltage installations.
  • Work around live equipment while adhering to lockout/tagout and arc flash safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with Foremen, Project Managers, and Engineers to ensure work is completed to spec and on schedule.
  • Complete documentation for quality control and safety compliance.
  • Train and mentor apprentices as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • Must have current NCSCB Splicing Certification
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License
  • Minimum 4+ years of high voltage experience (600V to 500kV).
  • Solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA 1910/1926 standards.
  • Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specs.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varying field conditions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
  • Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
