Job Summary:

The Electrical Service Technician performs skilled, complex work in the maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, including wiring, conduits, and other electrical components in residential and commercial settings.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, breakers, panels, and conduits.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and resolve them efficiently and safely.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Install and repair electrical systems in new and existing buildings, including upgrades.
  • Operate and use hand tools, electrical meters, power tools, and diagnostic hardware to perform installations and repairs.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Test electrical systems and ensure proper functionality after installation or repair.
  • Collaborate with other trades as needed, especially in commercial environments with overlapping systems.
  • Work with and install various electrical components in both residential and commercial settings, including lighting systems, electrical circuits, and more.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems, identifying issues before they cause system failures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work site, complying with all company policies and safety standards.
  • Keep Jet vehicles clean at all times.
  • Requisition material and supplies as needed from the stockroom or vendors.
  • Work may take place in cramped, dirty/dusty, cold, or hot conditions. Safety precautions must be taken when dealing with live electrical wiring and hazardous conditions.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Valid driver's license in the state of work.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Service Technician.
  • The position requires the ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • 1-2 years of field work in electrical service (not installation only).
  • Must be able to cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment to maintain acceptable performance and overall contribution.
