We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Electrical Engineer to join our R&D Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and iterating FPGA code and related PCBAs as well as shepherding overall system through regulatory and release to manufacturing, resolving technical issues, driving quality and reliability, and collaborating with a fast-paced, multi-disciplined team. This is a full-time position and requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams across multiple time-zones. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing next-generation technology, influence product innovation from concept through commercialization, and make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, mission-driven engineering environment!

Hybrid Schedule

This role has a hybrid work schedule requiring the person to be onsite 3 days a week.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop, simulate, and validate FPGA code for electro-mechanical systems including brushless DC motors, physical and optical sensors, heaters, thermistors, pneumatics and pumps.
  • Provide onsite technical leadership for hardware design and validation
  • Provide support for onsite prototype building
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sustaining, quality, supply chain, and service to ensure product reliability and performance.
  • Maintain and update documentation such as schematics, BOMs, source code, theory of operation.
  • Own regulatory compliance and product certifications through close partnership with regulatory team.
  • Participate in sustaining engineering reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of industry experience in electrical engineering required.
  • Extensive Experience with FPGA and PLD programming required. Must have familiarity with Verilog (and VHDL preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in electrical CAD and simulation tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, OrCAD, SPICE).
  • Solid knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, motion control, and power electronics.
  • Familiarity with thermal management, high-current system design, and best practices for EMI/EMC mitigation.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory compliance, safety standards, and industrial equipment certifications.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading projects and working in a fast-paced, collaborative R&D environment.

Preferred Educational Background

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
