Job description
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Substation Engineer II to join our growing Power Delivery team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This position supports the planning, design, and execution of electrical substation projects for utility, industrial, and energy clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of substation engineering experience and a strong understanding of high-voltage power systems, substation design principles, and utility industry standards.

Responsibilities- Perform engineering and design activities for transmission and distribution substations.
- Develop physical substation layouts, equipment arrangements, grounding plans, conduit plans, and electrical calculations.
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and protection and control design packages.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & control, transmission line, and construction teams throughout project execution.
- Support equipment selection and specifications for transformers, breakers, switches, reactors, capacitor banks, and other substation equipment.
- Participate in client meetings and technical discussions.
- Review vendor drawings and equipment submittals.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and engineering estimates.
- Support construction, commissioning, and field activities as needed.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements.

- Must currently reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth area or be willing to relocate prior to starting employment.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Experience working with EPC contractors, engineering consulting firms, utilities, or power delivery organizations.
- Exposure to high-voltage substations ranging from 12kV through 500kV.
- Experience supporting construction and commissioning activities.
