Purpose:
You will provide electrical engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the electrical engineering team. The purpose is to manage a team of electrical engineers and designers and oversee their work on oil, gas, and chemical projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of electrical engineers and designers and oversee their work on oil/gas/chemical projects.
  • Plans organize, and direct engineering work, ensuring on-time completion, safety-in-design and quality outcomes from conception to completion.
  • Collaborate with project management, client, other disciplines to meet project objectives.
  • May lead one or more projects while providing guidance for other lead engineers within the program.
  • Maintain relationship with project management and client to ensure satisfaction with the quality and progress of the project.
  • Candidate shall have the ability to communicate effectively (written, emails, verbal) with the team and with management and shall possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills; shall have the ability to motivate, create a positive work environment, helping the team to learn, grow and work together to achieve common goals.
  • Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Worley', its customers' and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Initiate, manage and if required supervise electrical engineering project requirements.
  • Perform electrical engineering services such as:
    • participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures.
    • ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
    • provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations, and write purchase orders.
  • If required, act as the electrical engineering Lead on specific projects.
  • If responsible for a team:
    • outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress and.
    • ensure the required services meet Worley, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
  • Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer's requirements.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in electrical engineering.
  • If required, assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team.
  • Communicate effectively with the electrical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.

What you will bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
  • Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients.
  • Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the electrical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications.
  • Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and electrical engineering specific software, ETAP, PSCAD, SPL.
  • Development, design of electrical distribution systems, equipment selection, protective relay selection, power management system configuration, interface management.
  • Perform/review power systems studies and protective device settings.
  • Extensive technical and practical experience in electrical engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
  • 8 plus years' experience in oil and gas industry.
  • Oil and gas experience.
  • Experience in software such as MS Office Suite and electrical engineering specific software, ETAP, PSCAD, SPL.
  • Development, design of electrical distribution systems, equipment selection, protective relay selection, power management system configuration.

  • This position is in California.
  • Salary Range $119,484-$175,711.
