SIE is looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the design of various public sector infrastructure projects. This is a full-time position reporting to SIE's Manhattan office five days per week.
Responsibilities:
  • Performing design tasks by performing research, investigation, coordination and design, leading tasks as appropriate
  • Performing electrical engineering tasks which include but are not limited to developing lighting layouts, lighting calculations, electrical calculations, load and voltage drop calculations, electrical/lighting plans, electrical specifications, wiring diagrams, electrical wiring system in strict compliance with NEC code, facility riser diagrams, single line diagrams, conduit run layouts, electrical reports etc.
  • Performing electrical design projects for highways, roadways, streets, intersections, bridges, airports, and various facilities.
  • Performing QA/QC for electrical/lighting design and drawings performed by electrical engineers in the team.
  • Developing technical drawings and details
  • Preparing plans, specifications and estimates of quantities
  • Construction support services, including submittal and RFI reviews
  • Preparing reports, permits, presentations or other project documents
  • Assisting in managing projects and technical assistance on engineering, design, testing, maintenance, and construction procedures and issues.
  • Developing and enhancing electrical/lighting software skills. Commonly used software includes but are not limited to AutoCAD, Microstation, Visual Lighting Software, Adobe, Revit, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
  • Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, location data, statistical documentation, engineering studies and surveys, and construction.
Qualification & Skills:
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering design
  • Experience with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, NYCDEP, PANYNJ, and MTA standards required
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Excellent communication skills and work ethic
Expected salary range is $72,800 - $98,800 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent on the individual's qualifications, skills, experience, and physical work location.
