Theย Transmission Practice is seeking an Engineer-in-Training, Electrical Designer in Bellevue, Bellingham, Olympia, Seattle, Tacoma, Tukwila, or Woodinville, WA; Beaverton, Corvallis, or Portland, OR.

This early-career Electrical Designer / EIT role will primarily support DEA's Beaverton, OR team, with coordination across our Portland and Tukwila offices as needed. The immediate focus will be Revit production support for a major water/wastewater project with additional opportunities to support other Energy projects as available.

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Design of electrical systems including main service and distribution, standby power, general power, and circuiting etc.
  • Design and produce drawings suitable for construction with sufficient detail based on engineer input including verbal and written instructions and drawing upon previous work and a library of electronic and hard-copy reference material.
  • Understand and comply with both client-specific and DEA CAD standards and preferences.
  • Implement file management procedures to organize and maintain electronic drawing files.
  • Communicate effectively with the other drafting and design staff and clients.
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.ย 
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • 2-3 years of experience as an electrical designer or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Revit Modeling with working knowledge in the other CAD applications such as AutoCAD and Mircostation
  • Must demonstrate strong ethical behavior while striving to produce quality work within project budgets and schedules.
  • Must understand the value of client satisfaction.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, be a highly motivated team player, and able to work under time constraints.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task on several design projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge of lighting.
  • Basic knowledge of data cabling, fire alarms, CCTV, and access control.
  • Ability to provide quality control of others' work.
  • Ability to modify technical specifications as needed.
  • Understanding of national, Washington state, and local electrical codes.
