Job Description The Electrical Designer will be responsible for designing electrical functionality of the product by understanding requirements, because of their expertise in the matter. They will transmit all pertinent information to the Design group and Production, ensuring that all customer requirements are met for all new projects. They will also assist and review all electrical based work performed by the shop floor, specifically on new products and prototypes, but also, any new revisions on production units where the electrical components have been modified. Role and responsibilities Design electrical functionality of products in accordance with requested standards ; Participate in conceptual to prototyping mass production phases of the program ; Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and industrial engineers during the design phases ; Design per cost, manufacturability, and functionality ; Provided 2D electrical design drawings ; Analyze the customer's need to translate it into system specifications and performance requirements to be met; Integration of electrical systems and components; Prototype assembly; Planning and execution of tests; Validate compliance with standards during manufacturing; Lead customer acceptance testing; Ensure that the client's specifications have been read and respected, while respecting industry standards (eg CSA, IEC, etc.); Provide technical support for activities related to electrical work in the workshop; Participate in the resolution of electrical problems in the workshop and find the cause of failures; See that employees receive all the necessary information to be able to answer questions relating to the resolution of electrical technical problems; Prepare technical documents: Monitor and verify the installation of equipment, modification, testing and validation of their functionality and performance; Participate in the various start-up tests of electrical units in the workshop, as required; Conduct research and be on the lookout for technical instructions related to our electrical repair work, customer specifications and new technologies to be transmitted to employees; Identify and plan activities related to product development projects; Build and maintain the design file including calculations, tests, verifications, validations, costs and approvals; Participate in design reviews; Verify and approve new concepts; Support the manufacturing engineering group in solving technical problems in production; Analyze the technical aspect of special customer requests during orders and quotes; All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed. Minimum Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering ; Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Electrical Designer ; Member of the OIQ - Asset ; Demonstrate autonomy and resourcefulness; Excellent communication skills; Excellent ability to work in a team in a changing environment; Leadership, decision-making (judgment), teamwork; Be able to work with tight deadlines on occasion; Experience in design and integration with harnesses and power cables – Asset; Knowledge of product development methods such as functional analysis, risk management, creation and monitoring of schedules - Asset.
