Purpose

Perform various manual tasks in the movement of materials necessary to transport, set up, or delivery of equipment, furniture, supplies, using appropriate material handling tools and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, load, transport, and deliver furniture and equipment across campus locations while working as part of a team to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Assist team with setup of furniture and equipment for campus events, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Drive University-owned vehicles, including box trucks, to transport materials safely and efficiently in high-traffic areas. When not driving, assist with ground-guiding and monitor surroundings to support safe vehicle operations.
  • Lift, push, and pull materials in accordance with NIOSH guidelines, prioritizing safe work practices required to perform job duties. Complete all assigned safety training.
  • Operate manual and powered warehouse equipment to safely and efficiently handle materials during loading, transport, and unloading activities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, team members, and clients, supporting coordination, safety awareness, and effective service delivery. Follow written and verbal directions
  • Attend and participate in team and departmental meetings.
  • Other related duties as assigned, including working with other departments. Frequent overtime is required to support organizational goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Possess and maintain a valid Texas Class "C" driver's license. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas driver's license within 30 days of employment. One year of hands-on experience with various phases of transportation services, including moving furniture and equipment. Knowledge and experience with basic hand tools. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree. More than one year of experience in transportation services. Operational experience with forklift and pallet jack.

Salary Range

$37,440 + depending on qualifications

Work Shift

40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Frequent overtime will be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
