Job Description: Electrician, IHM Mechanical – Electrical Division 

Company Overview: IHM Mechanical is a rapidly growing and dynamic organization working across 4 Western Canadian provinces, specializing in the electrical and mechanical subtrades working within the Refrigeration and HVAC industry.  As a highly successful 2023 comes to a close, we are seeking to add a skilled and motivated Journeyperson Electrician to work (full-time) within our group in the Lower Mainland.  IHM is a proud member of the Arcticom Group of Companies with 450 associates across Western Canada. 

Sign-On Bonus available UP TO $5,000 CAD, depends on experience

Position Overview:

The IHM Electrician will be providing mainly service support (preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair) to our substantial client base in the Commercial Refrigeration Marketplaces with some time spent on construction projects as they arise. 

Reporting: IHM Electrical Manager and interfaces with Refrigeration Service and Construction Leaders. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Service, maintain, and repair electrical equipment in commercial settings.
  • Install conduit using a hand, mechanical, or hydraulic bender.
  • Retrofit or repair wiring/cabling in existing systems.
  • Install low voltage controls for refrigeration, fire alarm, lighting and building management.
  • Install panel boards, disconnects, switch gear, transformers, transfer switches, generators, and other types of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control circuits for motors, pumps, and control devices.
  • Rough-in and finish wiring of control and electrical systems.
  • Maintain and store tools and equipment properly.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Red Seal certification.
  • 1-2 years of Journeyperson experience in commercial projects is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently in service, and order materials to complete daily tasks.
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week with possible after hours calls (wages compensated)
  • A valid and clean driver’s license (class 5 or 7N B.C)
  • Resident in the Greater Vancouver area.
  • Bondable.
