Job description

Lighting Ops Leader (Santa Clara / Burlingame, CA)

Hybrid Remote - 3 days on-site preferred (either location)

Based in the South SF Bay Area, we are a rapidly growing electrical wholesale distributor serving commercial contractors, OEMs, and industrial clients across Northern California. As an authorized distributor for leading electrical & lighting manufacturers, we supply advanced products and solutions across power distribution, lighting, controls, and renewable energy applications.

This is a high-impact Lighting Ops leadership role focused on guiding a 3-person Quotes & Project Team through operational challenges, expanding contractor relationships through customer success, improving processes + workflows, and building high impact relationships inside a tight-knit team. In a smaller business environment, you will have full autonomy on establishing accountability metrics with the support & guidance from Business Leaders who want to help you be successful.

This role is ideal for:

  • A high-performing individual contributor ready to step into broader operational influence.
  • Or an existing team lead/manager who feels capped in their current environment and wants more ownership.

What makes this different..

  • Lean, high-output team: direct access to top-line decision makers.
  • Real autonomy: flexibility on pricing, deal structure, and how you run operations.
  • Speed wins jobs: fast quoting, strong inventory access, and leadership support that understands contractor timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day lighting project operations and workflow coordination.
  • Improve visibility into quoting activity, project status, profitability, and team accountability.
  • Help implement stronger operational processes, reporting tools, and project tracking systems.
  • Coordinate closely with quotations, project management, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support customer communication, project follow-through, and issue resolution.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and help build more scalable systems for growth.
  • Serve as a key operational bridge between sales, quotations, and project execution teams.

Qualifications:

  • 4-10+ years of Lighting Project Management, Operations, Inside Sales, and/or Quotations experience, ideally within wholesale distribution environments.
  • Alternatively, experience within lighting rep agencies, electrical distribution, renewables, or adjacent project-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with products such as lighting, controls, switchgear, wire, and conduit preferred.
  • Strong management skills or recent examples of taking on more leadership assignments.
  • Self-driven with a high level of urgency and follow-through.
  • Comfortable navigating fast-paced environments and strong personalities.
  • Process-oriented mindset with an interest in improving systems and workflows.
  • High energy, accountable, and solutions-driven.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.

Compensation:

  • Base salary targeting approximately $100K - $110K.
  • Additional bonus/incentive opportunity bringing total compensation into the $130K+ range.
  • Benefits package included.
