Location: Houston, TX / Odessa, TX
Type: Full Time - In Office
Overview
Function as an Electrical, Instrument, & Controls design lead on capital projects. Designing Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control systems required for project implementation as described in the scope of work. Providing design support and leadership to the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control system construction group throughout the life of the project.
Responsibilities/Competencies:
  • Design process plant instrumentation and electrical power systems in accordance with nationally recognized and company standards
  • Work collaboratively with others in a team environment to accomplish objectives.
  • Design medium and low voltage power distribution and controls, control system wiring, plant lighting, electrical heat tracing, and the installation of process plant instrumentation
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of all deliverable products and services in assigned areas of responsibility.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years industrial design experience in process plant instrumentation and electrical power systems
  • Substation Design experience
  • Design Checking experience
  • EPC Design experience
  • AutoCAD experience required
  • Associates Degree in an industrial technology program or evaluated equivalent experience
  • Medium Voltage Design Experience (Above 1000v)
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical design (conduit and cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, hazardous location apparatus selection, cable tray sizing and specification, motor control schematic and wiring design, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation design (normal and energy-limited circuit design, preparation of installation details, location plans, control panel layout and device selection, etc.)
  • Familiarity with pneumatic, electronic and analytical instrumentation used to measure and control flow, temperature, pressure, level and analytical properties of fluids.
  • Proficiency in reading technical documentation including Piping & Instrument Diagrams, loop drawings, wiring schematics, and specifications
  • Microsoft Office experience required

  • Refinery experience

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
