They are seeking an Instrument Mechanic to join their team at a large-scale power generation facility in the Bloomington, IL area. Instrument Mechanic Benefits: Competitive hourly pay Comprehensive benefits Overtime opportunity Long-term career stability within a large power generation facility Instrument Mechanic Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and maintain instrumentation and control systems throughout the power plant. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, gauges, control valves, flow meters, and other process instrumentation.

Diagnose and resolve issues involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems. Test electronic equipment, replace defective components, and verify proper instrument operation. Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, technical manuals, and preventive maintenance procedures.

Assist with troubleshooting PLC and Distributed Control System (DCS) controlled equipment by verifying instrument signals and control system operation. Prepare work permits and safely isolate equipment for maintenance activities. Document maintenance activities, calibration records, and equipment history using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Coordinate with operations, maintenance personnel, and contractors to safely complete repairs and planned maintenance activities. Order replacement parts and assist in planning maintenance work during scheduled outages and routine operations. Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment as needed.

Maintain a clean, safe work environment while adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Participate in ongoing technical training and assist in mentoring other team members as needed. Instrument Mechanic Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET), Electronic Automated Systems (EAS), or a related technical field preferred. Journeyman-level experience as an Instrument Technician, Instrument Mechanic, I&E Technician, or similar industrial maintenance role preferred. Experience inspecting, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial instrumentation and control systems.

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, and technical manuals. Working knowledge of PLC and DCS systems such as Allen-Bradley, Bailey, Westinghouse WDPF, or similar platforms preferred. Experience troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process control systems.

Proficiency using calibration equipment, test instruments, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Strong commitment to safety and ability to work in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments. Willingness to work overtime and support plant outages as needed.
