Job description
The Electrical Instructor - Commercial Construction is an experienced, safety-focused electrical professional responsible for delivering classroom and hands-on technical training to develop the knowledge, skills, safety awareness, and jobsite readiness of electrical employees.
This position combines classroom instruction and hands-on lab and practical training, as well as assessment of technical skills. The Electrical Instructor delivers structured training covering electrical safety, trade mathematics, electrical theory, blueprint reading, National Electrical Code (NEC) concepts, conduit installation, wire pulling, device installation, grounding and bonding, testing, troubleshooting, and commercial electrical construction codes and practices.
Training is delivered through two primary formats: short, topic-driven pilot sprints that provide focused, rapid-turn instruction on specific subjects such as NEC code updates or new installation techniques, and longer, outcome-designed learning pathways that build structured skill progression over multiple sessions.
The Electrical Instructor translates real-world field experience into practical learning experiences that prepare employees to perform safely, efficiently, and professionally on commercial construction projects. The role requires an individual who can balance strong electrical trade knowledge with effective classroom facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and skills assessment. In addition to instructional duties, the Electrical Instructor screens job applicants' technical skills and abilities and collaborates with hiring managers to assess crew performance where necessary and address targeted skill or performance concerns.
This position requires routine travel to support company training programs, regional operations, and project-specific workforce development needs.
