General Description
SUNY Niagara is seeking dedicated, motivated individuals to provide leadership, engagement, and discipline expertise for our Electrical Technology Instructor position to continue to move the program forward in innovative ways. Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence.
The successful candidate for this position will have relevant professional experience and/or focused academic study necessary to provide instruction in a full range of courses including, but not limited to: Principles of Electricity; Programmable Logic Controllers; Power Systems; Digital Electronics; Industrial Automation Networks, Measurement and Instrumentation; Control Systems Design, Integration and Implementation; Electronic Troubleshooting and Diagnostics; and Robotics.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis, and candidates will be contacted when the department has an opening. Required Qualifications
โ€ข Journeyman electrician plus 1 year of experience
OR
โ€ข Associate degree in Electrical Technology plus 4 years practical experience in electrical technology and/or field work
OR
โ€ข Bachelor degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering or related field plus 2 years practical experience in electrical technology and/or field work
โ€ข Experience with modern electrical or control technologies
Desirable Qualifications
โ€ข Master's degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering or related field
โ€ข Teaching/Training experience, in the electrical technology field preferred
โ€ข Experience at a community college environment
License(s)/Certifications
