Electrical Foreman

This position is located On-site in our Bayou La Batre, AL location.


Birdon America, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Foreman to join our growing team at our Bayou La Batre, Alabama shipyard. This is a great opportunity for you to provide your knowledge and skills to a growing company in building a new Coast Guard vessel.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of Direct Current and Alternating Currents.
  • Capable of installing complex electronic components.
  • Capable of reading electrical diagrams and estimating cable footage required based on drawings.
  • Capable of directing the proper organization, banding, and packing of electrical cableways and transits.
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to follow schedules and deadlines.
  • Provide problem solving resource constraints.
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage a team of 12 to 15 people.
  • Must be able to complete yearly performance reviews on crew members.
  • Must be able to work safely and promote a safety conscience culture.
  • Employees must procure a number of specific tools; a list will be provided.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and basic Excel.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:


  • 5 to 7 years supervisor experience
  • Fundamental knowledge in electrical systems as it pertains to boat building.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
