Job description

Seeking an experienced Foreman Journeyman Traffic Signal Electrician to join our growing team. We perform traffic signal, street lighting, ITS, and transportation electrical projects throughout California and are looking for motivated professionals who are committed to safety, quality craftsmanship, and teamwork.

This position is for electricians with traffic signal and roadway electrical experience who are eligible to work under an IBEW collective bargaining agreement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current California Journeyman Electrician Certification (required).
  • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Essential Duties

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair traffic signal systems and related electrical infrastructure.
  • Install traffic signal poles, mast arms, signal heads, cabinets, controllers, conduit, wiring, vehicle detection systems, pedestrian push buttons, and street lighting.
  • Install and maintain flashing beacons, fiber optic cable, communication systems, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and project specifications.
  • Perform conduit installation, wire pulling, splicing, termination, testing, programming, and preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and specialized construction equipment.
  • Establish safe work zones and coordinate traffic control in accordance with project requirements.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, the National Electrical Code (NEC), California electrical codes, contract specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Complete daily reports, timecards, maintenance records, and material documentation accurately.
  • Work closely with project managers, inspectors, utility companies, contractors, and public agencies.

Working Conditions

This position involves work in active construction zones and public roadways with exposure to traffic, heights, noise, dust, and changing weather conditions. Duties require lifting, climbing, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating specialized equipment.
