Job description

Controls Technician – 2nd Shift

Direct Hire | Faribault, MN | $25–$35/hour DOE
Monday–Friday | 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm

We are seeking a hands-on Controls Technician to support and troubleshoot electrical, PLC, and automation systems in a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support daily production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, electrical controls, and automation systems
  • Support plant production through electrical and controls maintenance
  • Assist with process improvements and system upgrades
  • Maintain and calibrate process control instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot sensors, switches, gauges, and pneumatic/electronic systems
  • Document equipment changes, repairs, and system updates
  • Support mechanics and maintenance personnel during equipment repairs
  • Help maintain software versions, backups, and control system documentation

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of industrial maintenance, controls, or automation experience
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot control circuits
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Technical schooling or coursework in electronics, automation, or controls is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
