This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the electrical trade and can serve as a stepping stone to becoming a fully licensed electrician.

What does an electrical helper do?

As an Electrical Helper, your daily tasks typically include assisting electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems. This may involve running wire, assembling fixtures, organizing tools and materials, and preparing work areas for licensed electricians. You’ll also be responsible for adhering to safety procedures and may help with troubleshooting under supervision. As we continue to scale, we are expanding our capabilities to support larger, next-generation energy projects. This role will contribute directly to that growth and help shape the future of our engineering team. This role will join a high-performing engineering group and contribute directly to active project execution, while also helping enhance and evolve the tools, processes, and standards that support SAI’s continued growth. • Review EOR deliverables for NEC/NFPA 70E alignment, completeness, and conformance with SAI requirements.
  • Document decisions and technical rationale (design reviews, breaker/setting validation, utility correspondence, and turnover artifacts).
  • Coordinate with EOR partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to keep scope and design intent aligned.
  • Support commissioning and safety teams in developing practical, code-aware procedures.
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment; prioritize effectively and communicate status clearly.
  • Research equipment and evaluate specifications; stay engaged with emerging technologies (EV DCFC, DER, BESS, MV distribution).

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience (or equivalent combination of experience and strong technical aptitude).
  • Working knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70) and NFPA 70E; comfortable researching and interpreting applicable sections.
  • Experience with power distribution and one or more of: EV charging, DER, BESS, or MV distribution.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects and collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and learning mindset; eager to take on increasing responsibility.

Preferred:

  • Prior responsibility for creating BOD packages, QA/QC checklists, and commissioning documentation.
  • Exposure to arc-flash documentation workflows and reviewing stamped drawings for code alignment.
  • EIT/FE or PE (not required); familiarity with engineering tools is a plus.

Competencies:

  • :Clear, concise written and verbal communication; produces clean technical explanations and documentation.
  • Collaboration and interpersonal savvy; comfortable giving/receiving direction and coordinating across teams.
  • Customer-focused judgment with practical, safety-first decision-making.
  • Organized, proactive, and process-oriented; helps establish the foundation for a growing EE team.
  • Demonstrates curiosity, initiative, and a growth mindset; ready to “own” the electrical discipline internally over time..
