Job description

Electrical Apprentice/Helper (Conveyor Systems)

Job Summary
We are seeking motivated Electrical Helpers and Apprentices to support Journeyman Electricians with the installation and wiring of industrial conveyor and automated material-handling systems. This is a hands-on, contract/project-based role focused on field electrical work on conveyor platforms such as Intelligrated (IntelliQ), Dematic, Vanderlande, Honeywell, or similar systems. Candidates with prior electrical, conveyor, warehouse automation, or industrial construction exposure are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyman Electricians with installation and wiring of industrial conveyor systems.
  • Help install and route conduit, wire, cable, and electrical components.
  • Assist with pulling and organizing power and control wiring.
  • Help install and wire conveyor motors, sensors, photo eyes, junction boxes, disconnects, and other field devices under Journeyman supervision.
  • Assist with mounting electrical boxes, supports, and related equipment.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare conduit for installation.
  • Identify and organize electrical materials, tools, and components.
  • Support electrical terminations and equipment installation as directed.
  • Follow electrical drawings, layouts, and instructions provided by Journeymen and supervisors.
  • Maintain tools, materials, and a clean work area.
  • Work safely around conveyor equipment, lifts, machinery, and active construction areas.
  • Follow all OSHA, site-specific, and safety requirements.
  • Assist the electrical crew wherever needed to keep installation on schedule.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an electrical helper, apprentice, or in construction/industrial environments is preferred.Conveyor or automated material-handling experience (REQUIRED).
  • Experience pulling wire and installing conduit.
  • Familiarity with Honeywell Intelligrated, IntelliQ, Dematic, Vanderlande, Hytrol, sortation systems, warehouse automation, distribution centers, fulfillment centers, and industrial electrical construction.
  • Basic understanding of electrical tools, materials, and terminology.
