Job description

Position Overview
Triumph is seeking a motivated and aspiring Manufacturing Engineering Intern to work closely with our experienced manufacturing engineers, supporting various process improvement projects within our organization. This internship provides a unique hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a student eager to apply their academic knowledge to solve real-world manufacturing challenges and contribute to impactful projects.
Responsibilities
  • Support the design of equipment storage for tools, fixtures, and products used in manufacturing.
  • Assist in the optimization of the manufacturing environment to reduce waste.
  • Assist in the creation of manufacturing documentation
  • Help identify opportunities for improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to maintaining high safety and quality standards throughout the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field from a college or university.
  • Strong academic record (e.g., minimum GPA of 3.0 or as specified by the company).
  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of common shop tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills (but not required):
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Design experience using SolidWorks is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
