Overview

SUMMER 2027

Shure offers a challenging, fun, and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support mechanical efforts in all phases of the product development life cycle.

This internship will be Hybrid, based in Niles, IL.

Responsibilities
  • Learn and use NX 2D and 3D CAD software to document mechanical, electrical, or acoustical components, products, or systems of limited complexity.ย 
  • Assist Mechanical Component Engineers in establishing catalogs of standard Mechanical partsย 
  • Work with Associates from various teams and departments in coordinating documentation and assisting with the implementation of Engineering Change Requestsย 
  • Investigate and resolve minor production related deviations and generate Engineering Change Orders and Special Engineering Notices as required.ย 
  • Design components using established manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, and sheet metal forming using standard methods.ย 
  • Learn how to obtain information from a broad knowledge base to complete assignments.ย 
  • Validate designs through analysis and testing.ย 
Qualifications
  • Working on B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentย 
  • Experience with Mechanical CAD softwareย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.ย ย 
  • Keen willingness to learn new concepts and skills.ย 
  • Self-motivated, team player, detail orientedย 
  • Able to meet required deadlinesย 
  • Ability to work independently with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.ย 
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Access, and Word).ย
