Job description

As an Electrical Engineering Technologist at CoolIT, you will support the development, release, and sustainment of advanced liquid cooling solutions for data centers, enterprise servers, and high-performance computing systems. Working closely with Electrical Engineers, you will support product development activities through documentation control, product data management, testing, and manufacturing support.

This role focuses on maintaining technical documentation, creating and managing part numbers (PNs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs), processing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and supporting product releases through the company's PLM/PDM systems. You will assist with the introduction of new PCBA, and electrical components by gathering supplier and environmental compliance documentation, maintaining component libraries, and supporting electrical panel design activities. Through collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and suppliers, you will help ensure products are accurately documented, manufacturable, compliant, and ready for production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project & Product Lifecycle Support

  • Review and understand product and project requirements to support development and release activities.
  • Assist Electrical Engineers with project documentation, and product data maintenance.
  • Track assigned tasks and provide project status updates to the Electrical Engineering team lead.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities throughout the product lifecycle.

Documentation & Configuration Management

  • Create and maintain part numbers (PNs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation within PLM/PDM systems.
  • Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and support product release activities.
  • Maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable assembly documentation, specifications, and test procedures.

Electrical Engineering Support

  • Support the development of PCBAs, control systems and electrical panels
  • Assist with electrical panel layouts, component selection, wiring documentation, and manufacturing package preparation.
  • Support prototype builds, engineering evaluations, and product design updates.

Component & Compliance Management

  • Research, evaluate, and onboard off-the-shelf (OTS) electrical components for new and existing products.
  • Gather and maintain supplier documentation, including datasheets, certifications, and product specifications.
  • Collect and manage environmental and regulatory compliance documentation, including RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, and related requirements.

Testing & Validation Support

  • Assist with prototype assembly, product testing, and validation activities.
  • Create and execute test procedures and document test results.
  • Support troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and corrective action activities.

WHO YOU ARE:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting electrical/electronic product development, PCBAs, or electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience creating and maintaining engineering documentation, including part numbers, Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, specifications, and engineering change processes (ECNs/ECOs).
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems, preferably Arena PLM, and release management using Altium 365 or similar platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design tools (Altium Designer preferred) and familiarity with microcontroller-based systems, embedded applications, and basic C programming.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design principles, PCB assemblies, electrical control systems, wiring, cable assemblies, and industrial electrical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and related diagnostic tools.
  • Understanding of electrical manufacturing, assembly, troubleshooting, prototype builds, validation testing, and production readiness activities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and environmental compliance requirements, including RoHS, REACH, UL, and CE

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
