Electrical EngineerIntroduction

An Electrical Engineer is needed to support engineering and design of transmission projects. The engineer will work independently under general direction and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering analyses, studies, and conceptual designs.
  • Independently plan and execute assigned engineering work.
  • Resolve engineering problems using established solutions.
  • Prepare design criteria, project scopes, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct field walkdowns and design review meetings.
  • Present technical findings to stakeholders.
  • Develop and evaluate alternative engineering and project proposals.
  • Solicit, prepare, and evaluate engineering consultant proposals.
  • Review consultant contracts and deliverables for technical compliance.
  • Interpret and apply engineering codes and regulations.
  • Participate in restoration planning and root cause analysis.
  • Review and approve engineering reports, drawings, and revisions.
  • Provide engineering support during emergencies.
  • Represent the organization with government agencies on projects.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor''s degree in Engineering from an accredited U.S. program or equivalent international degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of cumulative engineering and design experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical transmission line engineering experience involving 115kV–500kV systems.
  • Strong knowledge of GO 95, NESC, and transmission line standards and construction practices.
  • Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or similar software.
  • Project management experience.
Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based in Oakland with work performed remotely and from an assigned work location. Travel within California will be required for project and field activities.
