Job description

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking a growth-oriented candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility in Horicon, WI.

Electrical Engineer
As an Electrical Engineer you will support the development of vehicle electrical systems for outdoor power equipment and off-highway vehicles. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply management, quality, validation, and program management throughout the product development lifecycle. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, integration, testing, and release of vehicle electrical systems and components while supporting new product development initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage electrical system requirements, including hardware and software specifications, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and release vehicle electrical systems, including wiring harnesses and related components.
  • Create, organize, and maintain bills of material (BOMs) for electrical systems and vehicle platforms.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on component feasibility, development, validation, and integration activities.
  • Provide technical support during prototype builds, product validation, and production launch activities.
  • Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of electrical system concerns.
  • Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, validation, and program management teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to product development processes and electrical system design practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle electrical system design, integration, validation, or testing.
  • Experience developing, designing, or testing electrical components, wiring harnesses, and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of electrical hardware and software interactions within embedded systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and manage project deliverables from concept through implementation.
  • Knowledge of product development and engineering change processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to support off-shift activities as needed during vehicle builds and launch events.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with agricultural, turf care, construction, or other off-highway vehicle development programs.
  • Experience creating and maintaining bills of material for vehicle systems or test equipment.
  • Experience with embedded software development, validation, or test scripting.
  • Familiarity with SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) and HiL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing environments.
  • Experience designing wiring harnesses and electrical systems using 3D CAD tools.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience mentoring or training engineers and technical team members.
  • Experience leading design or test activities involving remotely located teams.
  • Advanced coursework or training in complementary engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering methodologies and best practices.

Pay Range: $70,000-$100,000 - Commensurate with experience
