Job description

Electrical Engineer

Full Time Regular Professional Austin, TX, US

Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering design for municipal infrastructure projects, including pump stations, power distribution, backup power systems, controls, and SCADA‑related systems or other assigned projects.
  • Design and review power distribution systems, generators, motor controls, VFDs, and SCADA‑related infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with civil engineers, utilities, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Perform technical reviews and QA/QC of engineering deliverables and subconsultant work.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource forecasting activities.
  • Provide construction‑phase support, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site visits.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through technical excellence and responsiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering systems, including power distribution, generators, backup power systems, motor controls, grounding systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of municipal, utility, water, and wastewater infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with controls, instrumentation, and SCADA systems.
  • Understanding of project delivery processes, permitting requirements, and construction documentation.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office applications.
Skills
  • Ability to lead electrical design efforts from concept through construction.
  • Strong technical problem‑solving and engineering judgment skills.
  • Ability to perform quality reviews and ensure technical accuracy of engineering deliverables.

  • Experience coordinating with clients, contractors, utilities, and project stakeholders.
  • Experience providing construction‑phase support, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
  • Previous experience leading projects, technical tasks, or mentoring junior engineers is preferred.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Texas.
