Job description

TRC is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support engineering project leads and electrical team leads in the development of electrical subsystem and component designs that meet customer requirements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on complex projects from concept through production and commissioning in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and release electrical systems and components for power generation or industrial equipment applications.

  • Support projects through all phases including concept development, detailed design, production release, purchasing support, manufacturing support, and commissioning.

  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring designs, power distribution systems, and component layouts.

  • Create and maintain engineering models and drawings using Creo and related design tools.

  • Perform electrical design calculations and ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and safety requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineering leads, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and project stakeholders to meet project objectives and timelines.

  • Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting activities, and shop floor investigations when required.

  • Support testing, validation, and implementation of electrical systems and components.

  • Provide technical documentation and engineering support throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET).

  • 8+ years of relevant electrical design experience.

  • Creo Modeling

  • AutoCAD (basic proficiency)

  • 480V and 208/120V AC power system design
