Job description

Principal Electrical Engineer โ€“ Proposal Lead

Location: Marlborough, MA (Onsite, 1st shift)

Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship required; must obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance starting day 1.

Responsibilities

Craft well researched, strongly documented engineering bids. Write Basis of Estimates (BOEs) based on sound reasoning. Defend bids to management while interfacing with hardware leads. Support both electrical and REPA department level proposals at 50%, department level metrics development and support at 25%, and technical department initiatives at 25%. 1st shift role, 100% onโ€‘site, with travel to Andover, MA and Tewksbury, MA.

Required Qualifications
  • Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience leading multiโ€‘disciplined teams for proposal submissions.
  • Experience developing and submitting compliant BOEs aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience analyzing SOWs and RFPs to define project scope.
  • Experience identifying risks and opportunities, including detailed cost rollups.
  • Experience adjusting bids for various contract types (FFP, CPFF).
  • Experience delivering presentations of proposal details to management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance postโ€‘start.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong business acumen and ability to advocate for the department.
  • Ability to work with Mechanical Engineering on combined hardware packages.
  • Familiarity with Standard Bidding Tool (SBT), Engineering Project Information Collection (EPIC), and PSโ€‘07.
  • Comfortable multitasking among technical, business, and schedule constraints.
  • Experience interfacing with crossโ€‘functional disciplines to align electrical bid with overall scope.
  • Experience with receiver and exciter hardware development at the radar system level.
  • Academic background in receiver/transmitter design, RF design, frontโ€‘end transceiver design theory, digital signal processing, radar systems design verification, and systemโ€‘level verification testing.

Salary range: $107,500โ€“$204,500 USD depending on experience.
