In this role you will be responsible for working within the E&IC group. What you’ll do:

  • You will have the opportunity to work in multi-disciplined engineering projects, interface with mechanical, electrical, structural and civil engineers.
  • You will be active in the design of power systems including medium voltage electrical equipment, motor control centres, low voltage electrical distributions systems, lighting, hazardous location classification and design, and fire alarms.
  • As an electrical engineer you will also be involved in the supervising of junior engineers or technicians, project planning and the review of subordinates’ work for technical accuracy.

Does this sound like you?

  • An undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer.
  • Demonstrated 8+ years of experience in a multi-discipline engineering setting.
  • The ability to apply electrical engineering principles and techniques to provide electrical engineering and design services for a wide variety of industries and clients.
  • Developing and review of single line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, control panel layouts, conduit routing, heat tracing, motor power and control schematics, and field wiring.
  • Developing plans and details for hazardous area classification, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
  • Developing specifications for electrical equipment such as electrical switchgear, motor control centres, and electrical back-up systems.
  • Applying industry codes, standards, and safe guards such as the CEC, IEC, NFPA and client company standards to designs at hand.
  • Experience in a multi-discipline project setting and cross-discipline coordination.
  • Experience conducting field inspections and/or working with contractors.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Self-starting and committed team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
