Sedgman est actuellement a la recherche d'un ingenieur electricien pour rejoindre notre equipe au sein de notre bureau de Montreal, au Quebec. 

Cette personne sera chargee de l'ingenierie electrique et de la conception des reseaux d'alimentation BT et MT dans le cadre de nos projets miniers. L'ingenieur pourra etre amene a occuper le poste d'ingenieur chef de projet, ce qui pourra impliquer la supervision d'autres membres juniors de l'equipe. Le candidat ideal jouera le role de mentor et d'accompagnateur aupres d'une equipe jeune et enthousiaste.

En quoi consiste ce poste ? Responsabilites Principales:

  • Realiser la conception electrotechnique de projets de traitement des minerais et des infrastructures associees. (Cela peut inclure : le traitement industriel, les usines de metaux precieux/minerai de fer, ainsi que les services associes).

  • Rediger les cahiers des charges des equipements electriques, les fiches techniques, les devis et le cahier des charges, en veillant au respect des normes d'ingenierie.

  • Elaborer des propositions et des etudes conceptuelles pour les phases de pre-faisabilite, de faisabilite et d'ingenierie de detail des projets.

  • Travailler sur une succession continue de projets de petite et grande envergure, nationaux et internationaux, tout au long de leur cycle de vie : du developpement du concept initial aux etudes de faisabilite, en passant par la conception detaillee, la construction, la mise en service et l'exploitation

  • Assurer la liaison avec les clients internes et externes, les professionnels d'autres disciplines, les fournisseurs et les parties prenantes du secteur afin de garantir la realisation des projets dans les delais, avec precision et a un cout raisonnable.

  • Faire preuve d'un niveau eleve de securite personnelle et de securite dans les pratiques de conception

Sedgman is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Montreal, QC. office. 

This individual will be responsible for the electrical engineering and design development of projects in the mineral processing industry.

What does this role involve? Key responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical engineering design for mineral processing projects and associated infrastructure. (may include: industrial processing, precious metals/iron ore plants, as well as associated services). 

  • Prepare electrical equipment specifications, datasheets, and scope of work, ensuring compliance with engineering standards. 

  • Develop proposals, conceptual designs for Pre-feasibility, Feasibility and Detail engineering phases of projects.

  • Work across a continuous succession of small and large, domestic and international projects as they progress through the project lifecycle - from early concept development, feasibility studies, detailed design, construction, commissioning to operations  

  • Liaise with internal and external clients, other discipline professionals, and stakeholders within the industry to ensure the timely, accurate and cost-effective delivery of projects. 

  • Demonstrate high standard of personal safety and safety in design practices. 

Que recherchons-nous ? Qualifications :

Licence en genie electrique

  • 5 a 7 ans d'experience pertinente en tant qu'ingenieur electricien, notamment dans les systemes de distribution d'electricite a moyenne et basse tension

  • Etre ingenieur inscrit aupres du Groupe des ingenieurs du Quebec et titulaire d'une certification de l'OIQ.

  • Solides connaissances du secteur, ainsi que des codes et normes reglementaires canadiens

  • Une experience dans un environnement de conception technique ou de conseil est un atout ; une experience anterieure dans les secteurs de la transformation industrielle (petrole et gaz, pate a papier et papier, chimie), des services publics d'electricite et/ou des mines et metaux est consideree comme un atout

  • Maitrise des systemes d'instrumentation et de controle dans les applications industrielles.

  • Capacite a gerer de maniere autonome, sure et efficace son temps, ses priorites et ses activites

  • D'excellentes competences en communication et en relations interpersonnelles sont fortement souhaitees

  • Solides competences organisationnelles, competences techniques et souci du detail

  • Une excellente maitrise du francais a l'oral et a l'ecrit, ainsi qu'une bonne maitrise de l'anglais a l'oral et a l'ecrit sont requises en raison des contacts quotidiens avec des clients, fournisseurs, partenaires et collegues bases hors du Quebec

  • Doit etre autorise a travailler au Canada sans parrainage

What are we looking for?

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Will have 5 - 7 years of relevant experience as an electrical engineer, with MV and LV power transmission and distribution systems 

  • Will be a registered engineer with OIQ; an asset if a registered engineer from other parts of Canada or the United States.

  • Solid knowledge of industry, as well as Canadian regulatory codes and standards  

  • Experience in an engineering design/consultancy environment is preferred.

  • Previous experience in a mining and metals environment is highly desired

  • Proficiency with instrumentation and control systems in industrial applications. 

  • Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills, technical competence and attention to detail 

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship

  • Language:Must be fluent in French and English, to be able to work with other Sedgman offices outside of Quebec and Canada, and to work with clients outside of Quebec.
