Job Description

Grace is seeking an Instrument & Electrical (I&E) SME to join our engineering team! This role reports to the Engineering Director and can be located at any W.R. Grace site. This role is a critical Instrument & Electrical (I&E) SME position supporting capital projects and plant operations. The position ensures continuity of technical leadership, governance of electrical engineering deliverables, and support of reliability and maintenance programs across Grace sites.

Responsibilities
  • Review and approve electrical engineering documents across all project phases
  • Lead electrical scope definition, planning, and vendor selection
  • Serve as SME in design reviews, MOCs, PHA, and LOPA
  • Support commissioning and startup activities
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure continuity of ongoing projects
  • Support reliability and maintenance COE initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with corporate engineering standards and policies
  • Immediate Impact Expectations (First 90 Days):
    • Assume ownership of active project scopes
    • Ensure continuity in design review and contractor oversight
    • Maintain SME support for plant reliability initiatives
    • Stabilize engineering standards and compliance execution
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%
Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in capital project or operations or maintenance executionΒ 
  • Knowledge of PSM and electrical standards
  • Ability to develop standards and processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS or PE license preferred
  • Experience with SAP and project management tools
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing industry
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Change management experience
