Job Description

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of automated test systems used to validate and troubleshoot manufactured products. Supporting new product introductions, production operations, and engineering changes, you will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective test solutions that improve product quality, test coverage, and manufacturing performance across Rockwell Automation's global manufacturing facilities.

You will report to the Manager, Manufacturing Test Engineering and have a hybrid schedule working in Cambridge, ON.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of automated manufacturing test systems for new and existing products.
  • Provide design-for-test feedback during product development to improve testability and coverage.
  • Develop test strategies, plans, timelines, and deliverables to support product launches and engineering changes.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to deliver effective test solutions.
  • Design electrical test systems, select components and instrumentation, and support test fixture development.
  • Develop, debug, and maintain test software for manufacturing test equipment.
  • Manage the procurement, installation, and lifecycle of test-related capital equipment.
  • Create and maintain test specifications, schematics, bills of materials, software releases, and user documentation.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement and resolve test system issues.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for complex manufacturing test systems.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.
  • The ability to travel 25% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing production test equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing automated test systems and supporting manufacturing test processes.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages or platforms such as C, C++, C#, NI TestStand, Visual Basic, or PLC programming.
  • Ability to interpret electronic schematics, electrical and mechanical drawings, bills of materials, and product specifications.
  • Knowledge of electronic hardware design processes and mechanical design concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team-oriented, project-based environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation.

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $85,000 - $110,000 with an annual target bonus of 5% of base salary. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
