Key Responsibilities
  • As an Electrical Engineer, you will lead and support electrical engineering requirements and construction packages for client projects.
  • Manage and execute electrical design projects
  • Load list development
  • Conductor sizing
  • Overcurrent protective device (OCPD) sizing
  • Lighting and switchgear design
  • Cost estimates and equipment specification
  • Oversee facility electrical design aspects including low-voltage facility electrical distribution systems
  • Backup systems, grounding, fire alarms, lighting controls, and security systems
  • Collaborate with project teams while supervising and mentoring team members.
  • Execute full lifecycle project support, including system design, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide on-site support during installation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (NEC, IBC, NFPA 101, ASHRAE, IECC).
  • Develop project deliverables using AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
  • EIT certification preferred; PE licensure is optional but a plus.

Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing or consulting environments executing electrical power system design projects as a designer or design engineer.

Technical Expertise:
  • Proficiency in managing medium-scale electrical projects, including client coordination, system design, and bid package preparation.
  • Experience with low-voltage (LV) systems design: lighting, fire alarm signaling, security systems, access control, etc. typical in MEP bid packages.
  • Familiarity with distribution design: sizing/specifying equipment, conductors, and protection for LV/MV facility electrical distribution systems.
  • Experienced with National Electrical Code, International Building Code, and other relevant building codes.

Project Management Skills:
  • Ability to schedule design/construction activities and estimate costs using software tools (MS Project).

Software Knowledge:
  • Experience with ETAP or SKM is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is highly desirable.

Additional Skills:
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities with a focus on relationship management.
  • Ability to influence clients, suppliers, and peers to adopt engineering best practices.
  • Flexibility to travel (10-20%) to external manufacturing sites for surveys and meetings.
