What You Will Do:
We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer. This role will involve developing the discipline from the ground up integrate electrical services into multidisciplinary projects, and contributing to the firm's strategic growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering related to infrastructure and a passion for innovation, sustainability, and client satisfaction.
Initially the position will report to the Roadway Design Manager within the Public Infrastructure team. The primary task is to grow backlog for our new Electrical Engineering group through our existing roadway design and highway lighting scopes of work. As the team grows, the successful candidate could be responsible for developing the strategic vision and growth plan for the Electrical Engineering discipline. This could include recruiting, mentoring, and managing a high-performing team of electrical engineers and designers. A key part of the role is fostering a collaborative culture that seamlessly integrates electrical engineering with our existing disciplines to support overall firm growth and project success.
This role requires strong technical leadership in electrical systems, including roadway lighting, traffic signals, power distribution, renewable energy, and smart infrastructure. The candidate will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards, including safety and sustainability requirements. They will review electrical engineering plans, specifications, and reports to ensure technical accuracy and quality.
The position involves close internal collaboration to integrate electrical engineering into multidisciplinary project workflows. The candidate will engage with clients to define project requirements, deliver effective solutions, and maintain strong client relationships. Oversight of budgets, schedules, and quality control for all electrical engineering project aspects is essential to ensure successful delivery.
The ideal candidate will identify opportunities to expand electrical engineering services, including new projects and partnerships. They will represent the firm at industry events, building relationships with clients, agencies, and partners. In addition, they will support proposal and presentation preparation to secure new business and grow the firm’s electrical engineering portfolio.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Massachusetts P.E. license required.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Expertise in electrical systems for civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including roadway lighting, traffic signals, power systems, renewable energy, and smart infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, AGi 32, or other relevant lighting design software.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code, Massachusetts Electrical Code, and ANSI/IES standards.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a civil engineering environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies like IoT, EV charging infrastructure, and energy storage systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication, team-building, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience directly supervising multiple staff.

Salary range: $118,000 - 160,000
The salary range displayed is a good-faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and market conditions. The salary range does not include additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses or benefits, which may be part of the total compensation package.
