Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an electrical engineer to design commercial, industrial, and educational facilities in the Seattle area for a growing, multi-state engineering firm. You will work on a variety of building projects, collaborate closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and use AutoCAD while further developing your Revit skills. The position is well-suited for an engineer with approximately four or more years of relevant project experience who is eager to grow into a leadership role within a company that highly values its employees and the relationships they build.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and educational building projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Develop detailed electrical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and Revit for commercial, industrial, and educational facilities.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to coordinate electrical designs and resolve technical issues.
- Interact directly with clients to understand project requirements, present design concepts, and incorporate feedback into design solutions.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to design discussions, schedules, and deliverable planning.
- Apply electrical engineering principles to support commercial building design, construction, and renovation projects.
- Use tools such as Arc Flash analysis software, EasyPower, and SKM Power to perform electrical system studies and safety analyses.
- Support commercial construction teams by answering design-related questions and providing clarifications during project execution.
- Learn and enhance proficiency in Revit for electrical design, transitioning from primarily AutoCAD-based workflows to BIM-centric processes.
- Contribute to a deadline-driven yet relaxed project environment by managing tasks effectively and communicating progress to the team.
- Demonstrate initiative and leadership potential, taking on increasing responsibility over time and supporting the growth of the electrical engineering team.
Essential Skills
- Approximately 4+ years of electrical engineering experience focused on commercial, industrial, and educational projects.
- Proficiency in electrical design for commercial buildings, including power distribution, lighting, and related systems.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design and drafting.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical for producing accurate and detailed electrical drawings.
- Experience working on commercial design and commercial construction projects, including coordination with other disciplines.
- Ability to interact effectively with clients, internal teams, and other project stakeholders in a professional manner.
- P.E. (Professional Engineer) or EIT (Engineer-in-Training) license.
- 4+ years of experience using Revit for electrical engineering and building design.
- 4+ years of experience with Arc Flash analysis, EasyPower, and SKM Power or similar electrical system analysis tools.
