About the Organization
Description
Concord Engineering Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer II for our Voorhees office to work in our HealthCare, Science & Technology & Commercial MEP group.
This group provides full-service MEP/FP engineering, energy consulting, design-build, construction management and commissioning services for industrial facilities and high-performance buildings for the commercial, healthcare, laboratory and institutional markets. We are a team comprised of engineers educated and practiced in energy conservation and project implementation with a proven track record for excellence in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, & fire protection engineering.
As an Electrical Engineer II, you will take an important role in taking the lead, in coordination with the Project Engineer, in designing electrical systems for various clients in the various markets within your design team. In some cases, there will be a requirement to sign and seal the drawings on projects where you are the Engineer of Record on the project. Coordinate and work with the design team within your discipline and work with the client/PM/Project Engineer to execute project objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
While our Company headquarters are in Voorhees, NJ, this position can work out of our NYC and/or Linwood, NJ office. This position can also be hybrid or remote.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • For some projects (and for those who are licensed Professional Engineers), perform as the Engineer of Record signing and sealing drawings for projects under your direction and supervision.For some projects (and for those who are licensed Professional Engineers), perform as the Engineer of Record signing and sealing drawings for projects under your direction and supervision.
  • Review projects regularly to ensure departmental standards and requirements are consistent with client requirements and the project budget.
  • Perform design, layout, and checking of electrical systems drawings and ensure the technical correctness of the drawings by using the applicable job, federal, state and local standards and codes.
  • Have good working knowledge of the National Electric Code and IBC, general familiarity with other NFPA codes that may apply to a specific project.
  • Develop specifications, assign area classifications, and review shop drawing submissions to ensure that they comply with necessary codes and standards, correct materials specifications, the project design intent and any other specific guidelines set forth for the job.
  • Perform site surveys, energy audits, attend project meetings and provide field construction support, as required.
  • Provide direction to less experienced Engineers in Training when working together with them on projects.
  • Implement training development, in conjunction with Project Engineer, other engineers, designers and draftspersons assigned to your projects.
  • Assist the PM/Project Engineer in proposal development, client management and overall project execution.

Desired skills and experience:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum seven to ten years with proven progression in electrical engineering and design of building electrical systems.
  • Experience in executing a design project with Autodesk Autocad or Revit and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred but at a minimum should be working towards licensure
  • Must be knowledgeable of local, state and national code requirements.
  • Must have experience/working knowledge of lighting and electrical load analysis software.
  • Strong working knowledge and utilization of Autocad, Revit experience is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards is a plus.
  • Must be a good time manager, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions.
  • Effective at working with other staff members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate complex ideas and have strong technical writing skills and technical documentation skills with the ability to prepare presentations and reports.
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English.

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $152,000 with actual salary based on experience.
