Join AtkinsRealis as an Engineer in Training - Transmission Line and build a rewarding career in the power transmission and distribution industry. Based in Calgary, you will work within a dynamic multidisciplinary engineering team supporting innovative HVAC and HVDC transmission line projects that contribute to the energy transition and the reliability of electrical networks. Your Role

  • Prepare conceptual and detailed designs for transmission line projects.
  • Prepare route selection reports, conductor selection reports, technical studies, reports, and specifications.
  • Coordinate project activities with internal engineering teams and clients.
  • Calculate structural loads and prepare Design Requirement Drawings (DRDs) and related specifications.
  • Support the delivery of large-scale transmission line projects involving HVAC and HVDC technologies.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to technicians and drafters assigned to projects.
  • Contribute to innovative engineering solutions that support reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure.

About You

  • Ability to prepare and review engineering designs and technical documentation for transmission line projects.
  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, and PLS-POLE software.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
  • Aptitude for analyzing structural loading requirements and preparing engineering specifications.
  • Proficiency in ==English== communication, both written and spoken; French is considered an asset.
