Description:

Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer III is a senior-level engineering professional responsible for leading the design, development, and technical execution of electrical distribution products and engineered power solutions. This position serves as a technical leader within the Engineering department, providing expertise in electrical system design, product development, and complex customer solutions while ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and customer specifications.

The Electrical Engineer III independently leads complex engineering projects from concept through production, mentors junior engineers, collaborates across departments, and drives innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives to support company growth and operational excellence.


Essential Responsibilities

· Lead the design and development of electrical distribution equipment, including switchboards, panelboards, power distribution assemblies, and modular power solutions.

· Develop electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and Bills of Material (BOMs).

· Perform electrical calculations including load analysis, short-circuit calculations, voltage drop, conductor sizing, and equipment selection.

· Review and approve engineering drawings and technical documentation.

· Serve as the technical lead for complex customer projects and mentor Electrical Engineers I and II.

· Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Management to support production and resolve technical issues.

· Ensure compliance with UL, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and customer specifications.

· Support prototype builds, testing, field troubleshooting, and engineering change management.

· Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on standardization, manufacturability, quality, and cost reduction.

· Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

· 7+ years of relevant experience.

· Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.

· Experience leading engineering projects.

· Proficiency with electrical design software.


Preferred Qualifications

· PE license preferred.

· Experience with switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, or modular power systems.

· Knowledge of UL standards.

· Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Lean Manufacturing.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Advanced electrical engineering knowledge.

· Strong analytical and communication skills.

· Ability to mentor engineers.

· Project management skills.

· Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.


Physical Requirements

· Frequently walk throughout manufacturing.

· Stand for extended periods.

· Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

· Wear required PPE.

· Occasional travel as required.
