Senior Electrical Engineer

VERUS is looking for a self-motivated, organized, and results-driven Senior Electrical Engineer to join our close-knit team. This position allows for those with a degree in electrical engineering to grow and advance into a principal/lead electrical engineer position.

Our clients are important to us. We need someone who is accountable, well organized, takes pride in meeting deadlines and milestones, and enjoys a good challenge. Our ideal candidate is also analytical and detail-oriented, with an understanding of codes, standards, engineering best practices, and quality control. They also understand the balance between technical excellence and practical engineering.

Most importantly, we are looking for a person who will fit in with our existing team - someone who is authentic and trustworthy, with a good sense of humour, approachability, and humility. Our aim is to further strengthen our team with both technical and personable people who can elevate our engineering capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities and attributes of the Senior Electrical Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform in a Client facing role as senior electrical engineer on utility, industrial, and commercial electrical engineering projects.

  • Execution, oversight, and overall design responsibility for electrical and controls engineering tasks associated with projects, including design, engineering calculations, and specifications.
  • Manage a project team working on comprehensive electrical and controls design packages including electrical and control diagrams, plans, details, panel arrangements, bill of materials, and hazardous area classification.
  • Coordinate the assigned electrical and controls work package deliverables, including coordinating with other disciplines and drafting teams. Prioritize and set deadlines, while also being adaptable and flexible to changing needs.
  • Ability to communicate well with team members and Clients, both verbally and in writing.
  • Provide mentorship and career development for engineering team members.
  • Experienced working in the field for engineering surveys and commissioning activities.

REQUIREMENTS
