Job description

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S.
ECI is seeking a motivated and experienced industrial electrical engineer supporting multidisciplinary industrial project delivery to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging industrial, utility, renewable energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects while collaborating with some of the industry's most respected engineering professionals. At ECI, engineers and technical professionals do more than develop designs - they solve complex technical challenges, support critical infrastructure, and help clients achieve reliable, safe, and efficient operations.
This position offers broad exposure to industrial power, controls, instrumentation, and automation projects with room to grow into technical leadership, project management, or subject-matter expertise. Tasks may include but are not limited to:
• Developing electrical design packages for industrial facilities including power distribution, motor controls, grounding, lighting, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Preparing single-line diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, cable schedules, loop diagrams, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Supporting power system studies including load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, protective device coordination, and arc flash analysis.
• Coordinating with clients, vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver practical, safe, and reliable designs.
• Participating in field investigations, construction support, testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Producing clear calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Minimum Requirements: BSEE, BSEET or MSEE preferred; BSME, BSMET or other degrees with significant heavy industrial controls and automation background will be considered; 4+ years direct experience in industrial automation, power or process control or combination of education and experience; P.E. preferred; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial power distribution, controls, instrumentation, and automation systems and a working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, NEMA, and applicable client standards. The successful applicant may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving is required; therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
Salary commensurate with experience and education. Benefits include:
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Flexible spending account
  • Health savings account
  • Life insurance
  • Disability insurance
  • 401(k), profit sharing and employee stock ownership plan
  • Paid vacation, personal days and holidays
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Continued professional education reimbursement
