Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement the design concept through the preparation of electrical detailed design, production drawings and schematics for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Design and prepare layouts and specification for lighting, electrical distribution (single line diagrams), emergency power distribution, fire alarm, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, cable, and panel schedules.
  • Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
  • Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable.
  • Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Create specifications and equipment selection.
  • Review shop drawings to confirm they adhere to project requirements.
  • Consistently follow company policies, procedures, and file structures/formatting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Post-secondary Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is an asset.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is required.
  • Membership with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
  • Work experience designing HV substations, fire alarms, lighting, emergency power generation, MV and LV distribution systems, and large electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code, Ontario Building Code (OBC), Canadian National Building Code (NBC), etc.
  • Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
