Job description

Electrical Design Engineer

 

Job Summary:


The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of design, and planning of projects; works as part of a team or as Lead Engineer on select projects; represents team in meetings; works as part of a team of engineers, designers and drafters.

Responsibilities


  • Prepare complete electrical production drawings from concept through construction, including redline drafting and final issuance
  • Develop designs for electrical power distribution, lighting, and special systems
  • Perform specification editing, submittal reviews, RFI responses, and project change request (PCR) reviews
  • Conduct site visits and field reviews to verify compliance with design intent
  • Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and other engineering disciplines
  • Review mechanical and related documentation for interdisciplinary coordination
  • Interact directly with clients, attend client meetings, and support project delivery expectations
  • Manage project tasks and provide technical oversight, supervision, and mentoring to junior staff


Qualifications


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing electrical systems for commercial buildings
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas preferred
  • Ability to identify and apply applicable electrical and building codes across multiple jurisdictions
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit MEP
