Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced and driven Electrical Lead Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical systems in data center construction projects. This role is critical in confirming the successful integration of electrical systems, compliance with project specifications, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring expertise, leadership, and a commitment to excellence to deliver projects that meet and exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all electrical-related concerns, coordinating with project leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate mechanical systems into project designs, addressing conflicts and confirming seamless execution.
  • Confirm adherence to OSHA regulations, project-specific safety guidelines, and environmental and sustainability standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of test results, certifications, and compliance reports for final project handover.
  • Track electrical-related costs, monitor expenditures, and manage budgets to prevent cost overruns while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Review electrical design drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance with contract requirements, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Supervise electrical subcontractors, confirming proper sequencing of installations and adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.
  • Oversee system testing, inspections, and commissioning processes to confirm electrical components function correctly and meet performance requirements.
  • Coordinate client outage/shutdown procedures and notify relevant parties of test failures while planning corrective actions.
  • Participate in post-construction evaluations and warranty follow-ups to address system performance issues and provide long-term operational support.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or related field plus eight years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with electrical systems, construction contracts, and regulatory requirements.
  • Four years of experience in electrical project management or a related role.
  • Experience in data center or related mission critical project management.
  • Experience with P100 and code compliance requirements.
  • Experience working as an owner's representative for hyperscale data centers and mission critical environments. Understanding of uptime, redundancy, and reliability.
  • Certified Construction Management or Project Management Professional or Professional Engineer Certification
  • OSHA 10-Hour Training.
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve design and construction challenges effectively.
  • Familiarity with advanced MEP technologies and sustainable practices.
