JOB SUMMARY

As a Electrical Engineer – Product Design & Validation in Menomonee Falls, WI you will:

  • Support the design, development, and optimization of electrical systems for new and existing products
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, wire harness drawings, and related engineering documentation
  • Apply practical knowledge of electronic circuit design, components, systems, and controls in daily design work
  • Assist in defining software functions for machine control and HMI systems
  • Acquire, analyze, and interpret electrical system data to support design decisions and troubleshooting
  • Contribute to machine documentation, including schematics, manuals, training materials, and troubleshooting guides
  • Write and process engineering change notices (ECNs) and release new or updated designs
  • Provide hands‑on support to manufacturing teams to maintain production schedules and resolve build issues
  • Collaborate with field technicians and service teams to investigate and resolve customer‑reported concerns
  • Support or lead testing activities, including defining test requirements, creating test setups, collecting data, and evaluating results
  • Troubleshoot issues during prototyping and coordinate corrective actions
  • Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and global engineering staff
  • Manage workload according to project timelines and proactively report status, risks, and issues
  • Maintain safety awareness and follow all safety procedures during design, testing, and support activities
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical design engineering experience in a manufacturing or equipment‑based environment (entry‑level to mid‑level considered)
  • Practical knowledge of electronic circuit design, components, systems, and controls
  • Experience with CAD tools such as Siemens NX and Zuken E3
  • Practical experience with data acquisition tools and communication protocols (CAN, UDS, J1939, etc.)
  • Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics and wire harness drawings
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with software development tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Vector CANalyzer (preferred)
  • Exposure to C programming or similar languages is a plus
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
  • Effective communication skills for cross‑functional and global collaboration
  • Ability to support hands‑on testing, prototyping, and manufacturing activities
  • Comfortable working around machinery, electrical systems, and varying environmental conditions
