What You Will Do:
  • Prepare, design, develop electrical application designs for complete heavy equipment vehicle electrical systems per customer specification, engineering standards, and previous designs.
  • Develop electrical circuits and systems, including schematic and application drawings, for vehicle application, to meet customer requirements and design specifications.
  • Provide support to manufacturing (not to exceed 10% of available time) for questions / corrections / modification related to vehicle electrical applications, resolve issues, and produce the appropriate design change documentation.
  • Works with suppliers to understand and develop the application of electrical components, equipment, or systems to the vehicle.
  • Analyze and interpret vehicle customer and engineering specifications to develop required electrical schematic and electrical applications.
  • Manage, coordinate, and clearly communicate the status of all electrical application deliverables per customer order and manufacturing schedule.
  • Conduct design reviews, as required, for all phases of electrical application development.
  • Clearly and accurately produce all necessary documentation of electrical designs as required by Manufacturing and Product Design.
  • Stay current with new electrical technology for potential impact in vehicle electrical system design.
  • Organize workload in order to provide updates and status reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform basic electrical design tasks including (but not limited to) circuit development, component selection, cable sizing, load analysis, BOM development, electrical load management, connection and interconnection design, and application development / design.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and understand vehicle electrical schematics and application drawings.
  • Full understanding of circuit development within a physical schematic.
  • Above average electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Basic understanding of vehicle subsystems as they pertain to electrical development.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle general arrangement and equipment.
  • Above average oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are somewhat complex.
  • Ability to work independently yet consistently execute to job schedules and milestone dates.

What You Will Bring:
Education Requirements and Experience:
  • BSEE degree (or equivalent) required
  • Advanced engineering degree (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in developing / designing vehicle based electrical systems
  • Training / experience in electrical controls including machines, controls, and power systems.
  • Experience with computer aided electrical schematic generation.
  • Proficiency and experience with computer applications including MS-Office suite.
  • Experience utilizing SAP (or equivalent) for parts usage and BOM determination
  • Experience with NX or other mechanical CAD applications

Pay Range: $62,000-$85,000 per year
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements:
This role is considered an on-site position located in La Grange, IL, USA.
  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
  • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
