Aircraft Electrical Systems Specialist in GAC Westfield

Computer networking and software loading experience needed. Familarity with CMS and connectivity preferred.
The compensation range for this role is $43.62 - $50.89 per hour.
Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements
Associate's Degree in Aviation Avionics (or related field) required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 8 years of Avionics/Electrical experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred. Repairman certificate preferred. Other FCC license preferred. Other NCATT Certification preferred.
Position Purpose:
Liaison across CS Operations, Vendors, GAC Quality, and GAC Engineering to provide timely, effective solutions for Avionics Systems. Builds customer relationships with regards to troubleshooting and solving the entire spectrum of aircraft systems, support equipment, and operational problems pertaining to our in-service product. Responsible for the verification/performance of avionics, electrical, and mechanical aircraft systems in accordance with engineering and maintenance documentation, includes but is not limited to; cockpit and cabin checkout, ASC installs, avionics installations, outside operations, and aircraft test flights/recovery.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  1. Under minimal direction, provides advice and guidance to the company and the customer on installation, service, repair, replacement, modification and maintenance of Gulfstream aircraft systems and support equipment.
  2. Interface with Quoting/Sales, Tech Ops, Engineering, and Inspection/Return to Service in support of installs, configurations/modifications, certifications, troubleshooting assistance and compliance of systems and processes. Be involved from the planning, installation and check out phase of the project identifying potential problems that may occur. Ensure compliance with STC, FAA and EASA standards and regulatory mandates.
  3. Identifies problems, trends, and troubleshoots in-service aircraft. Develops, prepares and updates new and existing troubleshooting procedures. Coordinate the development and evaluation of test equipment for use on Gulfstream aircraft.
  4. Configure aircraft systems and provide feedback to best identify the items or configurations that may lead to problems or issues. Provide options to planned systems that may not be compatible with existing equipment.
  5. Provide customer assistance with subscription services and training on new systems installed on the aircraft.
  6. Work with various manufacturers and vendors to provide assistance with validation of software or configuration changes implemented on a variety of units installed on the aircraft for testing purposes.
  7. Provide training and workplace coaching to the avionics technicians on the aircraft systems that have been implemented to the aircraft.
  8. Support customer satisfaction by resolving their issues in a timely manner. Devise alternative approaches to solve complex aircraft system and support equipment operational conditions, and originate new approaches in one or more areas of field engineering as required.
  9. Support road trips to repair discrepancies at customer facilities. Must be able to work independently to quickly analyze, identify and correct the defect in the system with minimal downtime.

Other Requirements:
  1. Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, troubleshooting, technical manuals systems, and aircraft maintenance records system.
  2. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  3. A good understanding of Windows computer applications including the use of standard computer word and data processing programs (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite). Must be proficient with DOS for troubleshooting purposes on LAN systems.
  4. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
