Job description


This position will perform electrical preventative maintenance on all equipment and also repair all equipment as required. Collaborate with maintenance supervisors and other peers to become familiar with electrical maintenance procedures and processes for all equipment supported by this position. Ensure all safeguards of equipment are installed. Provide customer service to other associates by way of trouble-shooting electrical issues. Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Management team.

Essential Functions:

Under the supervision and direction of the Department Manager, to successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.


  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly-installed machines and equipment.
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance technicians to diagnose malfunction.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Replace electric motor bearings.
  • Push buttons and press keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Perform functions of Maintenance Mechanic III when no electrical work is needed.
  • Regular attendance is required.


Marginal Functions:

  • Assist other Machine Mechanical Maintenance Mechanics as needed (ex: due to absence due to illness, vacation, etc.)
  • Other tasks or projects as required by manager.
